I enjoy the laziness of this photo. It makes me want to snuggle up with a dog and fall asleep. I'm also glad that you made the mouth and nose the focus of this photo. The viewer can almost feel the dog licking them, almost. The whiskers are beautifully in focus and really add texture/interest to the photo.
This photo is great! I really angle the angle that it's shot at; as it gives your subject (that adorable dog) a sense of carelessness and vulnerability. It's nice that you were able to capture those feelings within the image. I also think that the close-up perspective is quite interesting; this is never really the part of a dog your attention would normally be drawn to. So while your eye recognizes the familiar aspects of the dog within the image, it is especially drawn to the unfamiliar, which is exactly what this assignment was supposed to accomplish! Well done!
